How to auto play Video CD in Windows
Introduction
A pure Video CD (VCD) will not auto play (automatically play the video on an inserted disc) in Microsoft Windows without some sort of "helper" application. Although there are several ways to create a Video CD that will
auto play without a "helper" application, the following procedure, based on Lalim
VCD Player, is arguably the simplest, easiest, and cleanest.
All of these three files must be placed in the root directory of the Video CD, as described below. They should not interfere with playing the movies on a Video CD or DVD player. The Video CD will automatically play when inserted into a CD-ROM drive.
Creating the Video CD
Start Notepad and copy and paste the italic text:
[autorun]
open=Vcdplay2.exe
And last do you save the file as Autorun.inf , remember to select Save as file type: All files in Notepad.
Getting the Vcdplay2.exe, Autorun.inf and Msvbvm60.dll file into the root directory of a Video CD can be easy or hard depending on the CD authoring software you use. In Nero Burning ROM
it's easy: drag and drop the Vcdplay2.exe and Autorun.inf files into the upper right pane of the compilation window (set to "\" root), and then burn.
What is Msvbvm60.dll and why do I need to includes this file ?
Msvbvm60.dll
is the runtime file to enable the software run in older windows operating system
such as Win95 and Win98 . For WinMe and above you don't need this file .
Warning: You are not allow to burn this program (Lalim VCD Player /Lalim Compact Player) on VCD . If you wish to do so , you need to buy the license of distribution copy from Lalim Software. Please read the Lalim Licensing Overview for more information.
